Design: The new building in Rottenburg extends the existing administration building. The property is situated on an east-facing hill and is surrounded by dense woodland and an old stone wall. The extended two-storey building stands parallel to the existing administration building in the middle of old trees. The new building is connected to the main entrance axis of the existing building by a glazed bridge at the entrance floor and takes the form of the frame of the existing building. Horizontal and vertical framing elements structure the façade surface of the building, form the structural weather protection of the façade and serve as the load-bearing structure of the flexible sun protection.
Wood: The new building is made of prefabricated wooden panels. The load-bearing wall and ceiling elements and the interior columns reveal their surface of spruce wood. The exterior of the building is clad in lacquered white fir wood to protect the façade from greying. The glazing throughout is made of wooden window frames of white fir wood protected by aluminium profiles. All materials and surfaces have retained the original colour of the materials.
