Seminars
The Triple Wood exhibition was accompanied by seminars on wood construction for architects and planners, offering fundamentals and new insights to interested beginners as well as experienced practitioners. The seminars were held by renowned lecturers und in most cases recognized as formal education by the regional chambers of architects.
In order to reach a wider audience, five Triple Wood videos were produced and made available online. The videos feature several international experts on wood construction, summarizing and presenting various aspects such as fire protection or prefabrication.
Prefabricated wooden buildings
Serial and modular construction types are a tried and tested way to create spaces for living, working, and coming together - fast, affordable, and also attractive. With its high production precision, easy processing properties, and innovative businesses, wood is an excellent option for the prefabrication of buildings.
Building with wood for a sustainable future
The building sector, with its enormous energy consumption and CO2 emissions, has a special responsibility in times of a changing climate. Wood as a building material not only functions as an effective CO2 sink, but also requires substantially less energy in production and transport when it is sourced from regional and sustainably managed forests.
Structural stability in earthquake situations
Particularly in active seismic areas, structural stability of buildings is of the essence. The physical properties of wood, such as lower total weight and better load dissipation, qualify it as a viable option in use cases such as earthquakes.
Building with wood in the Alpine Region
Wood plays a major role in the building culture of the Alpine Region. Experience with regional timbers and a centuries-old tradition of applied wood construction form a treasure trove of knowledge and contribute greatly to the sustainable development of the Alpine Region.
Fire protection in wood buildings
There is good reason why legal requirements for fire protection in buildings are strict. Contrary to popular opinion that wood buildings are high-risk cases in the event of a fire, wood buildings can in fact not only satisfy all requirements, but even exceed them with its innate properties - when planned and executed correctly.
